Questions to general public from truckers...

How about when you turn on your left blinker to get over and around some slow traffic and the all the four wheelers floor it immediately! Are they somehow confusing our left turn signals up with the green light on the tree at a drag strip? What the he(( is that about? They regularly sh#* their britches when they do that to me, because often the reason I need over is because I have an oversize and need to get over to avoid hitting something. You should see the dust fly when I take half their lane while they are still in it.

 

Yes. I don't even drive a truck and this torques me off. My state spent oodles of my taxes putting in nice long on-ramps so you could get up to 75MPH on bicycle, but nobody can be bothered to enter the interstate above the legal minimum even if they're driving a BOSS Mustang.

When I reach the bottom of the on-ramp, I have a hole picked, my speed set, and my turn signal on. I *KNOW* I'm clear for entry on to the highway. But if I'm stuck behind some soccer mom in a minivan on her cell phone, I'm usually praying to every God I can think of while trying to figure out if she'll put the brakes to the floor or cut off the truck convoy.

And lane changes! I have to go off on lane changes now. I see so many people who don't check where they're going. Plus, they don't use their turn signal! I'm not psychic. Check that the lane is clear or tell me to get out of the way. Or both. I mirror check, blind spot check, signal, then move. But then I also drive a 125cc scooter and a Mazda Miata, so the only person likely to be hurt if I mess up is myself. MAYBE THAT'S THE KEY! Cars are too safe! Put everyone in a kei car or on a scooter -- they'll change their behaviors quickly enough

 

OMG I have found my thread! I just dont understand, why you dont check your mirrors or glance back over your shoulder, when making your approach. Please pass this on to fellow four wheelers. Please when coming down the ramp look for an open spot and try your best to get up to speed to merge onto the highway and into that spot. It is not my job to hold thd highway up for you. You folks dont even obeay the yeild sign. you just blindly come on in and expect others to work around you. Rediculous. Give us space we are not you freaking moble shady spot as we go down the road . lead or get the hell out the way Pilgrim. I can only do 62. I mean G's Louise... I can tolerate all kinds of bull crap u pull in and around me every day. I never had this problem when I was able to drive at 75 mi 85 mi per hour . And I must say, I believe that we should be able to use hammer lane for the big boys, passing lane for the cruisers and four wheelers use lane one and two. After all the highways were made for interstate movement of goods . 4 wheelers use a primary highway when possible and stay off my super highway please. Note to reader. Some may go home eveynight some get home for the weekend but I live on the road and the road is my home and my opinion does not always make me right or high n mighty but we as professionals log more hours in two months then most drive in a year. Got to love the people that never figured out what the side mirrors are for either. Turning their head backwards while talking on the phone and merging into traffic at 45 mph!
They look like some #### freak of nature all twisted like that!

90% of them are the Forrest Gump of drivers..."Stupid is as stupid does"

I think all big trucks should have built in rocket grenade launchers on the front...just take those worthless idiots out and stop them from breeding!

 

Is it just me or has it gotten worse since driver's ed is no longer required in schools? Or maybe I'm just getting old and cranky...

I have been tempted on many occasions to blow my horn when I see that they are on the phone and trying to merge or what have you. But then I get scared that if I do that, they will have a knee jerk reaction, jerk the wheel and crash into me, car, wall, ditch, etc... so I glare at them

Here lately, I have turned my signal on, looked and merged over (he was back enough but still kinda close, ok that didn't make sense).. I guess that car didn't think I was serious
