    Well, you sure have me beat on that one, Bruce. Got my first one in '64. Don't have a clue as to what the call sign for that one was now. . .

    I don't really have a "shack" either. Never have. I do have three mobiles and one HT. I stick to 2M and 70cm, as they are all I have. I'm really not into it all that much. But I do enjoy getting out in the back country on my ATV and seeing where I can hit a repeater.

    The main reason I got into ham, was because I missed not having a radio in the car. After years of LE, the radio just seems to become second nature.

    It's funny. Most folks, when they think of cops, thing of them always "packing." :biggrin_25524: Most of the time, I don't. But I sure do feel "deprived" if I don't have a radio around. . .:biggrin_25523:

    The years fly by ...... I have just 5 years to go and i'll retire from the jail.
    I started electronics school in 63 things ran on TUBES .....
    My early stations were built from 1950's stuff...
    You can find me when time permitts tinkering with that old stuff.
