Replace them hoses yourself.
Buy your own parts, they aint $400 for a box of heater hose from NAPA or one of your other stores. Clamps are not that costly either. Hose replacement isn't hard work, just tedious and time consuming because you have to loosen up the brackets that hold the hoses all the way back.
If the nuts/bolts are too rusted to get loose run one hose thru the brackets and zip tie the other hose in place as you go.
I wouldn't pay $625 for that job.

X2 on the shut off valves. They will get you out of a bind if you ever blow a hose. You can shut off the coolant supply to the offending heater and put some coolant in and keep on trucking.

My truck has them...and yea and they do work at least.
The hoses are getting hard and brittle but I am going to pass on this work, especially since she needed front slack adjusters.
The dealer emailed me last night (1241am) and told me the truck is all done but for some epoxy repair on the sleeper roof to seal the holes from the removed bird banger..prolly will pick it up Friday night. -

I do the work I can or what I feel comfortable with. Beyond that, I have either the Petro or KW do work on my rig....I don't have tons of large tools nor some of the more complex skills needed. When it comes to brakes, I am not even allowed to adjust them on my own as I am not 'certified' - so the dealer can do that....

JD...I don't recall how long you've been around here...PharmPhail was a guy that started as an owner operator right out of school it appears. He had no mechanical ability, had some bad luck and the deck was stacked against him. He's no longer a driver.
You're right, you're not certified, you don't adjust. That applies to auto slack adjusters. The older ones that aren't "auto adjusting", you can and certainly must adjust those yourself.

I had noticed a bit more free-play in my front brakes (during a pre-trip I did the other day) and when I took it in...thats when they told me the auto-slacks were stripped/missing teeth...

bring it here. i will do your hoses for $500
petro is a joke. if you cant do something they can then you should get some mechanic books and study up. you own a truck now, a good set of tools is mandatory. something like belts and hoses us simple parts replacement. take them off, put new ones back on the same way. not much you can mess up. just need a knife and a sceewdriver or nut driver -
i would recomend repkacing the silicone boots on tge joints vetween tge turbo and charge air cooler right away too. buy the clamps right away since they rarely come off in one piece

I already replaced all 4 of my HUMP boots. Yes, I did do that myself.
New clamps as well all the way around...they look crooked but they are not.
Oh..and ya, thats the new shiny $450 170A alternator I put in there too....
