Stevens uses kenworths first, then petes. There are a few very few freightshakers.

It was good to meet and talk with aracos, and delirious nomad tonight at the J in Amarillo. They were doing a repower, and I am bobtail after handing my load off to a driver that had been broke down.

Now I am arguing with dispatch, sent me a load that DLD's Sunday, 4 days away, for a 1050 mile run that delivers on Tuesday. A full week away. If that is all the better they can do, I might as well go home, or bobtail back to Fort Worth and hang out at the race track. I don't sit in a truck stop for 4 days.

Got my load in NH today. My APU took a dump this morning. Wouldn't start. Errors out. So since my batteries are kaput, I ended up having to get a jump from another driver just so I could leave the shipper.
Got to a TK dealer who fixed it. Turns out to be the reset button (again). Think it's time for me to start carrying one of those as a spare part.
Got screwed up on my time and started panicking about running out of time. Two rest areas, four truck stops all full. Finally found a TS in Weisenhammer PA at the last second. What a dump! But it's a place to park.
Did my log and realized I still had better than an hour left. So much for miscalculations. I think this time zone got me screwed up.
My load delivers at 1600 on thursday. Have about 800 more miles to go, so that isn't too bad.
Probably be heading towards the yard soon. They gotta fix some things, plus my 90 is up in three weeks and I'm suppose to be in Idaho on the 25th, so...
I haven't seen a Loves or Pilot since saturday and haven't transflowed last week yet. Finally stopped at one tonight for some fuel and their transflow was down.
Well I guess there's always tomorrow.
Now if I could remember to mail those receipts sitting in the envelope in my visor for the last three weeks...

Called my DM this morning, and explained what was going on, and that a load that delivered in california on Tuesday, a mere 1050 miles was not acceptable. He agreed, told me to acknowledge the load, and he would work on repowering me off of it. Ya right. Went in and ate at Dennys. Came back out to the truck, see I have a new load assignment...picking up tomorrow, okay I can get a 34 hour reset, and 2350 miles to the north east, 2 picks, 4 drops. Final is Tuesday. A good improvement.

Now they just have to talk tyson out of an empty trailer for me. I repowered to a bobtail at the KW dealer, so I have no trailer to pick up the frozen load from america cold, that delivers to National beef, where I get reloaded for the 4 stops.

Don't forget that Flying J now has transflo too!!!

It was good to meet both Aracos and TLeaHeart and finally put a face to two guys whose posts I've been following for over a year. Got repowered by Aracos, I had a load that I couldn't make and also needed to Trans-Flo the miles I had gotten off of it. I was hoping Aracos' load still had some decent miles on it, but no such luck. The paid miles on the load were 0001. Delivered at 06:00 at Affiliated Foods here in Amarillo- not a bad place- done at 0800 and drove up to T/A to wait on a load assignment. Got a call from Rick, asking if I would help him with a load, driver coming out of Dallas with a Pepsi load that delivers at 1000 CST in Denver tomorrow, and the other driver couldn't stretch his hours to get 750 miles with a 10 hr. break in there. Well, I actually hate going to Denver, but since Stevens helped me out to get me off my load yesterday, I accepted. Went back to bed and slept most of the day, since I won't be leaving here till about 0100, I don't want to get to Denver and drive around for 4 hours to 4 different truck stops looking for a place to park. Took shower, finishing laundry, and having some coffee at the restaurant waiting for the other driver to get here. I would venture to guess I'll be in Holcomb or Lexington tomorrow night, waiting on a meat load. Oh well, at least it gets me moving. TLeaHeart, you don't need a trailer! Just get creative- have them stack load on your 5TH wheel and tie it down real well, and just drive fast so the wind chill keeps the load cool! Haha. Hope you finnagle a trailer somewhere.

I don't know if the axles would handle 45000 lbs of frozen beef parts stacked on the 5th wheel. 6pm, and dispatch still has not got me a trailer...I keep calling and reminding them, heck just have one of the trucks headed out to tyson drop their trailer here. But that is being proactive and thinking ahead.

Hi. I am considering stevens but had a couple questions. I live in Pa ( right off i-81). I see some stevens come through here ( vs. central). Would this help or hurt my home time? I would like to get home every 3-4 weeks. Is that even possible or not. Next what is transflowed miles? Thanks.

Transflow is something we do at the end of a trip, it's a summary of that trip we just finished. The one thing to be to look for is whether there are customers there. If you live on what is considered to be a major lane of travel for that company. If they can get you freight near by for when you are headed home and when you come off of time off is what you want to look for

    inkin36 Thanks this.

Katrina mentioned heshey foods and some meat plants. Wouldnt they go to a dedicated driver first?
