    When you say it like that it does not sound so bad. However when you say it like $7.70 for cars. and $42.35 for trucks. That does not sound so great.

    Now lets look at what you would pay if it was not tolled. # 44c/g @6MPG. So in that same 55 miles stretch. Your acualy paying $4.03 in taxes. They are making a $38.32 profit off each truck on this road.

    gees, can I just sell my truck, then partner in with this project and live off the profits for the next 75 years?

    Not quite on target here.

    When you pay tolls, you still are paying the road fuel tax for the miles. They do not allow a reduction for it. Therefore, the profit is even greater.

    The fed ends up ultimately footing the bill though as the toll is tax deductible..or has that changed?

    Isn't NY the only state that adjusts road tax with proof of paid toll?
