Marten Transportation SUCKS!!!!!

I said I would update if I got paid for layover and yes they did finally pay the 300 dollar layover. Reading posts on here is what made me decide that when I did quit it would be on my terms. when I was scheduled to go by the terminal closest to where I wanted to be when I left.
Complete lack of faith in the integrity of this company would best describe my final thoughts on this company.

 

I used to work for Marten, and I recall chatting up one of the drivers I seen cleaning out his truck, and he said he was fired because he took a picture with his cell phone of the view over the hood as he was cruising down the road, and he posted it on his Facebook page; within a few days he was fired because of the photo (he mentioned on his Facebook page that he was a driver for Marten). So yes, things posted on the internet do get scrutinized by Marten mgmt. Best to make your profile as anonymous as possible when posting here as well. I would add that he was fired in the same fashion as outlined in this thread by so many others, i.e. fired at a terminal away from home and left to find his own way home at his own expense. I'm just sayin'.

 

Yes, for those of you who have become annoyed with my refusal to reveal exactly who I work for or other information about myself, there is a reason for that.

They even censor thier Facebook page. Delte all the negitive comments, only keep the good ones from the cheerleaders. Yet on other trucking company wfacebook pages, they all are willing to accpet the bad with the good.
Marten is just to scared to understand that they are nose diving into the gorund with the way they treat drivers.

You need to go and read every thing written here by people who have worked there, or are still there. Marten is not the same company as it was 5 years ago.
Because i was banned from thier facebook page, asking simply. what are the chances of getting porta potties installed at our Boilingbrook,Ill Drop yrd.
next thing i knew, i had a private msg, telling me i was banned from posting there. other former and current drivers have had the same thing happen to them, when the Marten Head hunters who admin thier facebook page, doesn't like what posters have to say.Unless it's 100% Poistive.

 

Maybe some people left bad comments after you posted about the porta johns ? Don't know why they'd ban you though. I personally don't have a problem with them censoring their facebook page. I'm sure they probably created it so the company and employees could commnicate including their families, not so it could turn into a #####fest about what's wrong with the world.

 

Not me, i worked there for a year, ran my nuts off, (no elog) i ran hard and made some good cash...then in wv, one of my trailor tires caught fire.....they put it out in time...so no damage........it happened right after the mandatory brake check going eastbound...there was nothing i could do...i was on a downgrade.....but they put it out in time.....they fired me...so i filed because...hhhhhh i needed a vacation.....they tried to appeal but i won anyway..so the way i look at it...ive been on the obama unemployment vacation plan since april.....and they plan on extending it for another year....im enrolled in school hvac certificate...and i can still pay my bills.....i love being at the house nice and toasty...while its 3 below out........i dont miss trucking.......and i certainly dont miss marten....im glad they fired me.....nothing on my dac, ive never been in an accident...they no better to mess with me...i told them id file a suit if they zapped my dac for a tire fire....you know how it works....i have money in the bank...and i make more in unemployment than i do working at marten,,,and the family time.....i am enjoying

 

So YOU ARE THE 1 driver in Marten history to get unemployment! I read about you I heard others envy you!
