I like driving because I am able to think back over my life, of old friends and of things and places Ive been...lets me put life in perspective. The other week I saw a very nasty accident..and again today. Put it in perspective...life is a gift from God. try to live right and be good to everyone you meet...love your family and do ur best to provide for them...I guess I like the solitude...and the time for self reflection on what has been an intresting life...

I like to work alone. I hate lazy people. Plus i make money and don`t have a boss pushing me around.

Its the sensation of seeing the world move around you. Pulling a load and hearing that engine bark on a hill as it works to climb. The ability at the end of the day not to drive home from work, you park it, get some chow, finish the paperwork and get a good 9 hours sleep. Wake up the next morning, do your stretches, a light breakfast, use the can if you need, and start the day again refreshed. You have 14 hours to do that 11 of driving. Drive for 6, take a noon break, maybe a nap and drive on that final 5.

Its a good lifestyle. If you have a good broker and you like the loads, what more does a driver need?

Just to hear the B model Kitty Purr!! It's just somethin' I always wanted to do. Like I tell people my left hand fits the curve of the wheel ; an my right fits the gear stick. Maybe it's cause I want to change the way drivers are looked at by the public I don't know.

The Extended Hood is a classic look, and is also seen on other brands of trucks as well. The Peterbilt model 379 is a classic design.

I drive a Peterbilt sometimes, and I like the way they look. They are also unique on the inside, with about 20 - 25 gauges on some that I have counted...a left fuel tank gauge and a right fuel tank gauge... plus about 15 switches. I also drive Sterling, International, and Freightliner. The Freightliner is a 1985 era Extended Hood that was converted to a straight truck and is a 7 speed tranny.

Even though it is getting more difficult every day, it seems, I still love what little freedom is left in truck driving, OTR style. New places, new faces everyday. Every day, every sunrise and every sunset, is different.

I got bored with the monotonous lifestyle of having a regular job after getting out of the military . While it's true that I should persue a college education as many of my mentors have suggested, only 2 of my hobbies make me happy in life: driving and cooking. I enjoy driving more over cooking, and I miss cooking.

I also love how random my job is. Everyday brings some sort of surprise. Such as the beautiful snowfall I ran into in Montana the other day.
