I am looking for information on a company out of Florida named Walpole. I am currently talking to a recruiter about working for them out of their Birmingham Al terminal. If anyone is or has worked for them or knew someone that did I would like to hear as much as possible on how the treat their drivers, how they pay, and any other information that may be available. Thanks.

I've hauled out of a lot of the same places Walpole drivers work, I think Birmingham is mainly pneumatic, I could be wrong, all the drivers I spoke with were in the hopper fleet, I pulled long dump hauling different aggregates, and they did a lot of the same. The drivers I spoke with were happy, and had quite a few years with Walpole, these were all Florida based drivers though out of Tampa. As you probably know, they're on percentage which is dependent on the total of the load, on hoppers and long dumps our rates varied quite a bit, I don't know about the tanks though. Anyway don't want to get long winded about something I don't know a whole lot about, just a little bit of what I know could be helpful though. Good luck, and I think you'd be happy and consider yourself lucky to get on with them.

Thanks for the input. Just trying not to get into another situation where they say they have plenty of work and then you sit at home waiting for work all the time.

I'd say the lack of info probably plays favorably for you, like I said earlier I've worked around with these guys, and they were all professional looking, wore company uniforms, and had been with them 5 plus years. I personally enjoy the type of work that keeps you off the beaten path, I would say go into it with an open mind, and count yourself lucky to get on with them.
