Yep, I got it out, It was a little sketchy with the head already being off , but for the most part it was pretty straight forward,The hardest part was pressure cleaning the assembly before I brought it in the shop, my buddy with the wrecker was busy so I called the Toyota forklift place and rented a 6000lb machine for the weekend, that made life really easy, I have a ton of pictures and I guess I will just get a link to my photobucket album instead of using up all that space on the forum here.
The main caps are punched with numbers, looks like I may not be the first to be doing this. -
Just a thought here. But you might be better off going with a reman motor and trans? It might cost alittle more but would be well worth it in the end?
I don't know what size that motor is but you could possible go bigger? -

I hate re-mans, what is good enough for them is rarely good enough for me.
And all of the warranty in the world doesn't pay for downtime or tows or sometimes even labor to exchange a bad one.
Do an oil analysis on the trans and diffs before tearing into them or running them. -
Great job. Next time going to be much easier.
