    FYI ON STOUGHTON TRUCKING
The company has been sold to a new owner. He seems to have a handle on the finances and is getting new accounts on a consistent basis. They're paying .36/mi and have been averaging their guys about 2500/wk, give or take 100/mi. They're back up to 89 drivers and growing. They're goal is to have 100 drivers by years end.
From what I understand, their new owner is a no b.s. kind of guy and wants his drivers put first, he feels they make his pay check and need to be accommodated accordingly. Sounds like a great philosophy to me!

my dad ran for them back in '04 till '05 at that time they had reefer vans and flat beds. at the time he leased on to him gave him a really good truck he paid for all of the flat bed equipment at the time it was like $1200 he said it was worth it. um the make the STOUGHTON brand trailers so he pick up a lot of wood out of corigan(sp) texas north of houston and the pick rice up out of stuttgard(sp) arkansas and i know they haul christmas trees during the winter time and they had alot of drops which he liked that because it was easy to unload and you got paid extra for all the drops he and he ran alot of miles during the summer but winter slowed down alot and he just ran up to wisconsin and back to dallas pretty much and they also haul canned food from somewhere in the midwest but i dont remember where. as a matter of fact i had a brother inlaw that leased several trucks from them and he put drivers in them he did pretty good but we dont talk to him anymore. and he never said anything bad about them that i know of. and they kept really good care of the trucks from what my dad said. maybe that helps maybe it doesnt but thats what i know about them

Most of their trucks are 05-06 Kenworth T-600's, most with low mileage. I've been driving for them for just under two months. They're not perfect, but they have been getting me decent miles and aren't awful about getting you through the house. There is room for improvement, but I'm sure that will come with time. They're just getting back up and running, so there is always growing pains. The money is decent, the equipment is, so far, well maintained and their response times to concerns is quick.
