Exactly! According to the rules--DOT considers a failure to take a drug screen where and when the company tell you to as a failure of that said screen and grounds for immediate dismissal, and that will go on your DAC as a failure of the screen and they are required by law to let all your prospective employers that inquire about you that you failed. Any driver who has been in the industry for , oh say, about 5 minutes or less knows this. The only way that any driver would ever go to an outside clinic for a drug test is if he/she even though they might fail and they were making sure that they were actually clean before taking the real test--that sounds more like it. Nobody is gonna require you to enter a substance abuse program unless you failed either. Sorry, but this story sounds like a lot of BS to me. It really kills me sometimes how these drivers embelish these stories so much that they actaully beleive themselves and then they come over here and tell us these stories trying to get further credibility and all they do is make themselves look all the more stupid, and these people are actually driving trucks on our streets! God help us!

That's straight b.s.! I drove for Celadon for a yr and a half. They missed my requested home time on four different occasions in that 18 month period.
As far as his urinalysis goes, he made a bad decision. Giving urine is paramount, if you want to keep on driving. There are no exceptions in the DOT manual, other than in the hospital...even then, they'll take the sample from your catheter. It is, however, typical of how Celadon operates. They care about filling driver seats, period.
Can't say I miss them in any form or fashion! Crap policies, crap mileage, crap home time, expensive insurance that has to be paid for by a crap pay check. Their equipment was ok, but managements attitude towards it's drivers, with a few exceptions, was crap. It was the worst paying job I ever had and yes, I left them in good standing.

As much as I want to say Celadon was in the wrong here, they weren't. You should have went right over for the drug test, no questions asked. I understand how much you wanted to get home, we all do when we're out that long, but yeah, you should have went. One thing I have learned about working at Celadon, when you're out on the road for weeks at a time they don't want to run you, but as soon as it's time to go home they have all kinds of miles for you...lol. Or something stupid for you to do, never fails! Bye Bye Celadon!! you suck!!!

when your name comes up for a random the company hands are tied you should have reported for the drug test. Which was more important your dac report and your reputation or going home a little later. the way things are now you should have took the drug test. You have knowone to blame but yourself
