My husband is getting back into trucking after serveral years of being away from it. Now TVs are digital, so he needs to "update" his TV.
So with Christmas Sale season coming, I'm looking to buy him a flat screen one. So I have a couple questions.
    1. What size seem to be the best for a truck?
    2. How do you store them while traveling?
    3. How do you set them up to view them when you have stopped for the night?

His old one had a VCR built in it. And he was able to sit it the passenger seat when he wanted to view it. So it worked for great for him in any truck he had. But the way these flat screen are setup, I did not know how people was using them.:biggrin_2558: I don't want to get one that he can't be used since money is tight right now. Thank you for any help you can give me.

Going through the exact same thing as i have been local for several years and going back to regional.

I have a 20 inch flat screen. It was under 200 bucks and has a great picture with a built in DVD player...Walmart.
An outside mounted tv antenna is best but some use an indoor digital antenna...14.99 at Walmart.

The closer to a metro area the more channels you get and you need to go in the tv menu and do a channel scan when you stop for the night.

Depending on what truck he has you could mount it in the cubby hole.
I have a piece of foam rubber and wrap the tv in it and lay it flat.

An RV antenna like this would be great on the truck. They really pull in the stations,

Meant to add that these new LCD televisions do not need near the power of the old CRT tv's....A small power inverter does just fine.

Thanks EZ Money!!!!!! I never thought about using a piece of foam rubber to store it in. I'll start watching the ads for a TV with a built in DVD player

I got a 23" flat screen that I bought on Amazon.com. When I drive I just put it on its back on a pillow and put another pillow at the base to keep it from sliding off.

I use my computer for a TV. I have Dell digital TV receiver that is USB. Plus I download movies/TV series that I just watch if I don't get a TV signal....

Maybe one of these days I'll get a tv but for now, this lap top does great.

I go to eztv.it for a bunch of series/shows. Movies all depends. I kinda got scared of getting movies as Cox sent me an email saying I downloaded a movie illegally. lol Said I would get my internet "banned" if I didn't stop. So I let a buddy do it and I just get them from him. lol

I thought with netfilx you get one movie at a time?

Still having a decent antenna is nice to get the local networks in HD.

I was at Walmart today and they had two different 19 inch tvs,One was like 148 bucks.

Once i get an assigned route and truck at my new job i was thinking of mounting my 32 inch in the truck..:biggrin_25525:
