Update on my truck...... WAIT!!!! nothing to update..... I called yesterday and they hadnt got it in yet....... the suspense is killing me......
and when I thought it wasnt a big deal to be down I have my main grain dealer call me and want me to run.... HARD!!! from now til CHRISTMAS!!!! geezz.... guess I need to call and get them on the stick eigh?

Anyways update on the crops........

corn about 140 average

beans 44 bushel average

Nice not to have to fight mud this year and we have been getting a lot of fall tillage done but since my truck is down now I am having to help work cows....... "OH lord..... please help them fix my truck quickly" lol

Had another busy week hauling beans,but just as i suspected,one little breakdown turned into little nickel and dime stuff all week long.I got the new starter put on monday morning,then tuesday my jake switch went bad,got it fixed thursday right before one of the fog-lights went out,so i winked at everyone friday and saturday morning,and now my air-compressor is leaking a little oil and building air a tad slow,so i'm gona go ahead and order a new one monday morning and put it on next weekend.

Thanks for the crop report farmermatt,sounds like you had a profitable crop. Prices are strong this fall aren't they

Dairy man do we have the same truck? 2 weeks ago brake pedal started sticking come to find out that it was a graffit bushing under the dash that supports the brake pedal then last week replaced 1"hose from top rad tank to engine the the same week belt tensioner went out , So I had allbelts idler pulleys and tensioners replaced . Fri I had 2 water cut offs putin heater hoses and new radiator and heater hose put on , Got it back and now it looks like that I am going to have to replace rear motor mounts hopefull they will tighten up and all this comes as we are working real steady. esp for hauling sand and rock to concrete plants with 1 truck tthe othwer truck it is hauling to a landcaping stone place. But we had a good weekend because I did not have to crank my ride , Have a great week and keep the dirty side down.

 

Urea is the nitrogen used on rice WH. It's commonly hauled off the big river around here. I've not hauled it but several guys here haul it regular. It's dry prills so I think it would flow great unless it got wet.

 

It's plain old fertilizer, WH. 46-0-0 It flows out fine, as long as you don't let it get wet. If you haul it, be sure to completely clean your trailer out before you load it, as most receivers will balk if they see wheat, corn, etc. in it when you unload. With it being white as snow, EVERYTHING shows up in it!

 

You looking to venture away from home? It would still be a day trip depending on where it was going.

 

I see a lot of grain being stored on the ground out in western Kansas even though it is completely tarped I wouldn't think this is not good for it. Do they transfer it to the elevator or bins for drying when storage comes available?

 

I've hauled some a few years back with the dump. Like the other guys said, its pretty much just like other dry fertilizer.

I'd say its always better to have grain in the bin vs. on the ground. But depending on what kind of setup they have, if it is covered good, well drained and has fans getting some air through it in tubes, corn can actually keep fairly decent for a few months. There's usually a small percentage of it goes bad, but they factor that in when they figure their costs on it. Some places around here have built places to put corn on the ground every year because its a lot cheaper storage than building bins of the same capacity. And they have to have some trucks to help them pick it up!
