lol, a "baby pete" is one of the new peterbilts i believe they are called a 389 or something, but they have a smaller sleeper and usually have only one fuel tank and no passenger seat. they are made that way so they can haul more product in the trailer without being overweight.

Used mainly for shorter runs maybe. Can get more payload. Freightliner has em' also.

Nope... its all about how much you can stuff into the wagon. Newer trailers and the lightweights (we have Internationals and Columbias too) can put 49500 in the trailer. Standard issue to the company guys.

Both. They're using them on regional stuff like a WallyWorld DC regional gig that we took over, and company longhauls as well.

One of the myriad reasons I ended up going over to the "dark" side. :biggrin_2559:

They're not that bad... missing passenger seat is a great place for a large fridge. The biggest challenge I see is storage space - there's not a lot of it with the shortened sleeper. A body just has to get creative, and not haul the entire house with 'em.

True , I did the NO passenger seat in my first W900 ( 1978 / 36" bunk ) and used it for the fridge

Well, had to sell my laptop to buy a greyhound ticket but I made it home. Looked around for a job for awhile and managed to get a govmnt job, yep, I'm the enemy now, lol. I work for the county road dept running a dump truck and a road grader. Started at $10/hr 40 hrs a week, fully paid for health insurance, paid holidays and retirement. Gonna stick around here I think.
