Hah! I got a Plum assignment!

I have half a trailer load I picked up in Chi-Town made up of a whopping 13K foam.
I'm taking it to Laredo with enough time to be at home tomorrow night.

I LOVE PAM when they give me something like this!

    So I'd say about 70-30 love/hate

Well after reading all these posts I'll be calling and setting up to go with PAM transport.

Good luck to you mystic. As I told a previous driver, learn as much as possible to do logs and pre-trips.

Must be nice. I have yet to pass by my house in the year that I've lived there. Yet 90% of the time I'm leaving or going on hometime, I see a #### PAM truck passing me the opposite way.

Well you are unlucky I am home every weekend although it will change as fedex has merged the Frieght and LTL so all PAM drivers on fedex loads will be back doing something else by Jan 29

Thanx, Been going over the Texas CDL booklet. Today I'll be going to take the permit test. I have also been studying for the other stuff. The Pre-Trip is the same as the US military pre-trip check so I feel I can pass that one.

I'm glad I found this site, I know I'll find more info and anything I may need to help me pass all the test I'll be doing.

Only prob I had with them wasn't even the pay, since I quickly got a dedicated run and was home often. When I quit, though, a couple of things that weren't my fault, like brake fire where police (not fire) were involved, and having to drive from a shipper with 1 door hanging off to a repair shop (PAMs orders), showed up on my DAC as 'incidents'. Fortunetly my next employers didn't sweat it but always find out from safety director if this is happenning.

I got told NO by night crew when I asked if I could drop early like directions said.

DM just answered me saying "I sent a msg for night crew. There was no reason for them to make you wait like that"

    I like this guy!

Except for the fact that it is gutless (oh no a Swift Volvo is gonna back!) and I HATE opti-idle this has been a pretty good truck.

I just might stay with them after the year is up.

THAT Swift didn't hit anything but the one that just went by had the trailer scraped from one end to the other!

Ok so I called Driver Solutions to see if I could still attend school. I applied there last year but changed directions since I had a little one on the way. Now I'm ready to get my training & hit the road but I found out so much has changed since I was last scheduled to work for PAM.

First, the Driver Solutions schooling with C1 was to be held at North Little Rock the last time I scheduled to go. Now it was been moved to Indy. No big deal, it's actually closer to Georgia than Little Rock.

Secondly (and I think I heard someone else mention this already), PAM is hiring teams only and pays 17 1/2 cpm.

All I want to know, is this a good thing? Can I make more money than I would have if I would have went last year and been a solo driver or are we both gonna wind up sitting in that truck with no miles?

I've tried to believe in PAM. I really have but it's hard to ignore the horror stories from veterans who have several years under their belts and are still struggling to get decent miles.
