Former Arrow Trucking leader free on bond

If Denny Carter were a literary man, he would say the events of the past week have a symmetry and order thats appropriate.

But, as a commercial truck driver and former police officer, Carter says the recent jailing of Doug Pielsticker, his former boss at Tulsa-based Arrow Trucking Co., is merely justice.

A man breaks the law, hes supposed to go to jail, Carter said.

Pielsticker, the former CEO of now-defunct Arrow, spent 31 hours in the Bryan County Jail in Durant on Sunday and Monday, arrested on a speeding ticket and an outstanding warrant, according to court documents and local officials.

Carter filed a complaint in Florida against Pielsticker for a bounced paycheck. That prompted an arrest warrant for Pielsticker, who was running Arrow until shortly before it folded after encountering financial problems late last year.

Pielsticker couldnt be reached for comment. His attorney, Thomas Marcum of Durant, said he appeared on behalf of Pielsticker in Bryan County District Court on Monday. Marcum declined to comment further.

Pielsticker, who now lives in the Dallas area, was stopped for speeding at 8:05 a.m. Sunday on U.S. 75 in Colbert, just north of the Oklahoma-Texas border. He was stopped by Colbert Police Officer Wendy Bridges, county officials said.

Pielsticker was driving 80 mph in a 70 mph speed zone, said Colbert Police Chief Mike Graham.

We dont have much of that highway (in Colbert), but the danger factor is elevated because of speed, Graham said. We have numerous fatalities.

When Bridges ran Pielstickers drivers license through the computer database of the National Crime Information Center, she found an outstanding warrant for his arrest from the Florida State Attorneys Office, Bryan County officials said.

The sad thing is that he still has the money to travel around.
FL and TX in the time since the company went down.
Sounds to me like they did not do a good enough job tracking down off shore accts.
They have to know that he had millions stashed from his last loans. Since none of that money went into the company.

It's going to cost Florida a $1k to retrieve the guy. I just don't see them doing it, though I would be impressed if they did.

He should have had warrants out for every bad check, not just that one. 31 whole hours in jail. Woo, justice.

I still think that this is just the beginning for him. He's got more skeletons in his closet that will eventually surface in this whole deal. I see hard time in his future. I'm surprised that he's actually staying in this country, to be honest.

Update: Former Arrow CEO pays debt, released from warrant

Doug Pielsticker, the former CEO of failed Arrow Trucking in Tulsa, Okla., recently spent 31 hours in the Bryan County Jail in Durant, Okla., after being arrested on a speeding ticket and an outstanding warrant, according to a report in the Tulsa World. However, a filing in Suwannee County, Fla., Circuit Court said the former CEO could be released from the outstanding warrant charge because he had paid all monetary obligations, the filing stated.

The outstanding warrant was for a more than $1,015.73 bounced paycheck written to trucker and former Arrow driver Denny Carter, who filed a complaint in Florida against his former boss, prompting a warrant for his arrest. The speeding ticket was issued to Pielsticker for driving 80 in a 70-mph zone just north of the Oklahoma-Texas border.
