There's a bunch of them saying the same thing. I just grabbed the first one in the search.

I just seen it on the news tonight. People that been drinking alcohol and take them have been dying. They said the state is pulling all energy drinks off the shelf. I guess they meant Tennessee. Maybe it was somewhere else. They never said the state.

They should have said which state. I can tell which state though.

    It's the "Nanny" state!!!

As with anything else, it falls to moderation and personal responsibility.

Oh, wait....I forgot...that's been legislated out of us.
Not to mention the millions of "modern" parents raising out of control brats who will grow up with their hands extended out in a "gimme" gesture even into middle adulthood.

    But I digress.

I don't use energy drinks or shots, found them way too sweet and distasteful. I get my coffee in the mornings without adulteration of any kind and make sure I don't get into such a state as to need a shot of caffiene and B-12 as high as those drinks offer. In other words, I stop and take a nap instead.

Those drinks never did anything for me, maybe because I drink a couple of cans of pop everyday. I just chalked them up to hype.

Most things "medicinal" and over-the-counter are cyclical.

Remember last year....the big thing was "colon cleansing". Year before that, it was something else. Energy drinks have snazzy packaging that colon cleansers would have a difficult time duplicating (wouldn't ya love to see THAT!), so they're apt to stick around longer.

Ever since I've been on CPAP, I haven't needed anything related to an energy drink in the afternoon. But I admit to still being a bit sluggish without a good cup of morning joe.

not for any energy benefits, but because I was diagnosed with Macular degeneration and it was part of the "mega vitamin" regimen my doctor put me on. I for one hate all the "energy" drinks and concoctions that you see everywhere. Most have enough caffeine to raise your blood pressure through the roof, and have to be terrible from a health viewpoint. I suggested the "ener B shot" because it has nothing in it other than B-12. So for the people that do like the energy shots, you just take a dropper full and a cup of coffee, get 10X the B-12, the same amount of caffeine, and save a ton of money.

The only thing Red Bull or other energy drinks ever gave me was the expected Headache after all the crap wore off. Back in 1977 when i started driving OTR, the REAL Jolt Cola was the trick for me . Coffee from Louisiana that had chickory in it also did the trick for me. Now if you can find Jolt on the shelves, most of it is fruit flavored reg. soda.

    Hey Injun,
You are dead right. Nothing piss** me off more than to see a food stamp recepient with four or five kids in tow in a grocery store with a cart full of sodas, candy bars, :gummy fruit snacks. etc. These are all covered under the food stamp plan we have in Florida. My tax dollars paying for a cart full of crap with virtually no nutritional value, so that the unemployed Mom can have snacks while she sits back in her "section 8" housing watching the Tyra Banks show, trying to figure out the next government subsidized plan she can apply for. At least Fla legislators have recognized the problem and currently have a bill up that will make food stamps do what they are supposed to do...buy nutrional food (no candy, sodas, etc.), and nothing else.
