Cobra 29 Classic/ Mods?

Recently found an old Cobra 29 in my grandfathers garage. I took it apart and cleaned it (as it was very dusty) and notice another electrical board laying inside it with wires running to some of the knobs and then to the mic. I figure this to be somekind of mod, but what?

 

No, but there are some other wires in there with the l shaped plugs

2 white wires running to mic, 2 white wires running to delta tune, 2 red wires running to delta tune, 3 green wires running to SWR CAL

 

board is about the size of a business card also

 

oh, I lied! there are two extra knobs inside but they are taped up

 

i guess these are the old ones maybe?
