2 new bridges nearly ready on NC coast

WILMINGTON, N.C. -- Two new bridges are ready to open on the North Carolina coast. The StarNews of Wilmington reported the new Sunset Beach bridge is scheduled to open Friday morning. A new Oak Island bridge could open this weekend.

Transportation Department spokeswoman Nicole Meister says both bridges are being painted with road markings now.
