    How much more money does this government need? Raise taxes, create another lousy reason, and pocket the extra income. Business as usual, mission accomplished. Then start the process AGAIN.

    It is not just the government.

    They are dealing with private enterprises that stand to make HUGE profits from such items. The CEO's and all will make SUBSTANTIAL bonuses.

    They will be pushing for more infrastructure work to be perfomed.

    In addition, with the vehicles getting better fuel mileage, leaves less money into the system.

    Control the actual expenditures for these projects and the end profit to the vultures to some extent, then they will see reduction in costs.
