Y2K, thanks for posting about your experience. Just from reading this thread, I'm learning from your 'mistake', so there is another benefit that came from it. Every day that I read this forum, I learn something new that makes me feel more positive about trucking.
For what it's worth, I'll repeat what so many others have said: hooah to you for "manning up" and taking responsibility for your actions. Integrity goes a long way, not just in trucking, but anywhere, anytime.
Then again, after seeing that picture you posted, I'm not surprised that you handled it the way you did. Is that an SF crest on your leathers? Maybe even an EIB? De Oppresso Libre, bro!
Stay safe out there.

P.S. Where did you get your training? I'm still searching for a good school in the Seattle area...
%&^*$##...... I screwed up!

Reminds me of my very first trip as a student with Kindersley Transport, my trainer and I had a load from Davidson, Sk to Newark, Ca, emptied out then went to the Flying J in Ripon, Ca to wait for a dispatch. We were there no longer than 5 minutes and a Digby truck clipped a truck parked at the end of the row, but he must have really not been paying attention, cause he caught the parked truck with the middle of his trailer and drug it probably 15 feet before stopping, took 2 boom trucks the better part of the rest of that day to get the two trucks apart and out of the lot. After witnessing that incident I ALWAYS have taken the widest turns possible in truckstops and never ever drive through the lot in a gear higher than 3rd.

Good news! Keep on truckin'!!!

sorry to hear that, maybe next time you'll try the GET OUT AND LOOK, I start with May on Monday and am pretty sure they dont like the word ACCIDENT. Good Luck!
-
Heh, read more of the thread,I wasn't even backing for starters lol.
It could have been avoided just but paying attention to my left mirror.
No company likes the word accident but I have to say May was more than fair about it and I still have my job.
Good luck to you and be careful out there, the hard stuff gets your attention but it's the easy stuff that sneaks up and bites you if you don't watch out.
That's what happened to me.123456 Thanks this. -
They hate that almost as bad as the phrase" late load".
