This question will seem odd to many at first.
I shoot archery ( Long Bows and Recurve bows) NOT Compound bows. I have nothing agasinst compound bows. This is simply a clarification for my question.
With this info in mind, my question is:
What are the Federal Regs for carrying weopons such as Long Bows and Recurves on a truck that crosses state lines. Not for protection. Only for shooting on off duty time to keep my hunting skills up.

Need to check each State's laws.
-
For Firearms You have to have a CCW and follow State Law for what ever State Your going to. As far as Bows go, there isn't any Law about carrying Bows of any type over State lines.
-
You need to check the laws of each state. For example in WI your bow must be unstrung or carried in a case.
-
No you don't have to have a CCW or anything else, you do however have to follow state and local law's to carry a firearm in a CMV. In 99% of jurisdictions if said weapon is unloaded and out of reach of the driver and ammo is stored separately you are good to go.

No doubt.
But consider more importantly.
Company rules and whether your job is something you wish to keep. -
And lets not forget certain places such as federal properties (Post Offices, military bases etc) or federally secure properties such as ports etc.
Or more importantly whether your life is something you may wish to keep.

Unlike most here, I have never worried about it.
And then almost 70% of the loads I do cross the border into Canada.
