The smoke blew into Edmonton today. It was the news of the day. It must be really tough to live nearer the fires.

the whole Williams lake - Houston area is on evacuation alert. Hwy 20 is open, but traffic is being escorted through so expect a major delay.

In 2003 2004 I hauled retardant in the western Provinces...mostly in BC.

The road was very narrow at this spot, it was built for logging skidders only.

I've got quite a few more.
The S64 Sikorsky chopper sucks up the retardant from the tank at the rate of 26 imperial gallons per second.

those cl215 are a nice airplane--i walked thru the ones from manitoba-----built like a rock
coming up to the lumsden hill one day--one was going by to drop and pick at the lake--scared the crap out of me--looked like it was almost on the road--just the valley goes--
they were giving some kind of demonstration cause there was lots of govt vehicles on the shoulder watching -
Lumsden or the Blackstrap hill (lake) south of Saskatoon.
By the way, those ducks are 245's, They have turbine driven props in them
Flew a few times in them from the airstrip at Pincher Creek when the fires we burning in the Coleman area. Dropped down to reload at the lake at the Rest Area on the AB/BC border just east of the Sparwood scale.
