S2B, your more than welcome here, infact I dont think anyone doesnt want you here.

On your topic, your right, I also started local recently in SFS, I am on the clock anywhere from 10 to 14 hours a day right now. Working my butt off and enjoying it to boot! Strange I never liked work before and I like what I am doing now, that is when things all go right :biggrin_25514: .

As to the guy who says you have to say no sometimes, I have said that word to dispatch a total of 5 times. I only use that word when I am either Out of hours, in the middle of a reset be it 10 or 34, or broke down and in need of repair. If I get a load that will be late, I let them know up front as to way, I calc out my hours it would take to run it and the time frame and they know before I ever accept it that I would either make it or not. Most the no's dispatch gets are invalid. People who go, I dont want to run east, or I dont want to go there, or they think they are only entitles to 3000 mile runs, so they come up with some bs reason or just say no with their actual reason.

We are not forced dispatched here, you say no they will find another driver, just dont cry if there is not another load for a day or two if your in BFE. Its not dispatchs fault your making your job harder, while it may seam like its you against them, it isnt. I have had our Santa Fe Springs dispatcher stand up for me more times than I remember, I can say I work for her as a local now and I would do anything for her. She has ALOT on her plate, she starts early and leaves way late just making sure everyone gets taken care of, and on top of it shes gotta deal with 8-10 local drivers a day keeping us moving all through the day.

Every company has quirks, I will probably be the first to say this but ours are two things.

    1. Our equipment isnt exactly always brand new, some of our trailers need to be retired (2100) series.

    2. Some days finding an empty can make you pull your hair out. (but this could not be all that bad right, that means we are busy)

Other than that we get paid as promised, they listen to us, and the miles are here.

BTW If any of you ever make it to SFS and see me sitting around in my raggidy old daycab (622) aka Booger. Hit me up.

    wulfman75 and soon2betrucking Thank this.

I'd add to that the 2000 series trailers as well as some of the 2200 ones...
And most of the 1600 series trucks as well....

"BTW If any of you ever make it to SFS and see me sitting around in my raggidy old daycab (622) aka Booger. Hit me up." I dont know where my truck will be but I will definitely look for you when I get headed towards SFS. Look forward to meeting you guys out there.
I also am ready to take anything anywhere. I can into W/S with my eyes wide open. I practiced here a night on my weaknesses and Studied the company policies and my assignments. I and my other classmates have a few days left, and once our assignments are entered, we are all signed out to drive. We passed all the skills and driving already last week. I will keep you guys posted as I can from Missoula. I know I made the right decision to come to W/S.

Hey guys, sorry it took me a few days to get back on here, sadly I am the proud driver of a destroyed laptop compliments of our pothole filled yard Dalton. Hit 2 holes and rocked the truck just enough to shimmy the comp off the bed causing it to hit the floor and destroyed it. Only good thing is I have a protection from Dell that covers everything. Drops. Falls. Liquid spills ect. Also broke my wifi card as well. So now, till I get my laptop back from Dell, which cld take up to 7 weeks, I'll need to pay pilot more $. :(
On a lighter note. I finally get use my iPad and what it's capable of doing, or not doing.
Thanks warp for the welcome to the " dark side ".
I'm glad to see I am welcome here.
I had the pleasure of taking one of the new guys from con over up to Ohio with me the other day and drop him off at home, en route to get his truck, had fun doing it and it reminded me just how lucky this company is to have a forum such as this one that's got all ten facts available for the world to see.
I don't have much time to sit here right now and read through all the other posts but will sure do so as soon as I get a chance. Gotta hit the sack n be up in a few hours to head north.
    Thanks.
