Thanks, Chompi. It did. It really did. But then a body shop made it look like the truck had been hit twice. And that sucked too. Had to go to another body shop. "I didn't know." I don't think I'll ever forget that!

One of our lease operators took the hit on the day he picked up "his" new truck. He hooked up, went inside the terminal to take a leak, came back, and . . . the hood was practically on the ground. At least the newbie who did it didn't try to say he didn't know.

I would move Heaven and Earth to find the SOB that wrecked my truck and wreck him/her. There is no excuse for not knowing when your trailer hits something. They just need to get a clue and off the #### phone.

yes this is what i meant too by "high speed" backing up.....since the parts were on the ground it supports a theory that it did happen there which is what i said also. i would surmise the driver was in the truck stop when this happened......unless HE WAS in the truck and was able to get the other driver....????? we will not know this.

but yeah, suppose the driver was inside the truck stop, comes out, and his rig is crumbled up like that........

and if that IS the case, (a hit and run), how can anyone live with themselves just knowing someone witnessed this and he can lose his job...??

well, i wish him well whoever he is (the victim), hope he made out ok.

Look at how far back into the spot he is! Then look behind the truck on the left and notice what looks to be a PULL THROUGH parking spot! Look to the right and yes it does look to be a single row parking! Why do drivers back when it's safer and easier to pull through?

I hate to say it butthis guy was actually lucky! About 5 years ago I pullen into the little stop just east of lancaster Pa where the CAT scales are and there was an oversized truck parked there with an OD load. The hood of the KW was on TOP of the cab and sleeper, the raidator was a part of the engine block, the whole steering axle was under the engine , the rails were bent in towards the center and the frame was almost on the ground but still on the axle!

No one saw the driver back straight up into this truck! It was really sad! He had a white CAT in it!
As to what I'd do if I ever caught the guy that is sissy enough to do damage like this and not man up to it? I wonder how long this picture will stay on the thread!!!!

High speed as in someone in a governed truck strolling 30 mph thru the truck stop parking lot just happened to see a pull thru spot.

So at 30 mph, he jerked the wheel to the right to pull in & park..... as the right side of his trailer strolled over what once was a W900

This happened to me on 10/8/10. Just got my truck back Friday 11/12/10. $17k worth of damage. You are no safer in a pull through spot. I was hit by a driver moving forward.
