Glad to hear that deerslayer. They will be caught in time. Or when the EOBR's are forced on us, then they will have no other options but to run legal. When that happens, they'll wish they still had you around.

Best way to fix it goto work for a big outfit then u will hardly ever get home but u wont have to misrepresent on your log
-
Fudging a little bit is one thing, but outright fabrications will come back to haunt anyone who lies in any large way on the logs. -
Yep, a little fudge goes a long way!

Not all small compaies run that way. Some have realized that an accident is alot more costly in civil court than making the drivers run illegal. You just have to find them. I have, however, seen a company run their drivers so they WOULD get tickets and be stuck at that job. Your money is good but you are risking alot more because believe me I've been involved in some civil suits for my last company as a small time investigator and those headhunters will go after anything that will slander the company and the driver.

Many mom and pops have their bread and butter customer they ship from. They have to meet their needs (wants) or lose the account. Everything is not peaches and cream when you have the DOT saying it has to be this way, the shipper says it has to be here ****, leaving the company and driver trying to make both happy.
The company knows and wants you to run illegal when neccessary. It's more profitable to them. Get caught and they don't know you. Why did you do that?
Alot of drivers don't know this stuff when they hire in. They get trapped and either deal with it or quit. Who likes changing jobs? Having 2-3 weeks with no income. It's alot easier to play the game. There are companies that judge how good you can falsify. There is an art to it. You suck at it, you get let go.
Johnny Straightarse hires in and tells them he won't do it. You won't last long. You might as well start looking for another job.
Mandatory EOBR's will change all this in the near future. -
2 kinds of drivers. Those who cheat a little and think it's ok and those who cheat a lot and don't worry about it but everyone cheats.

What if you take the job and they put you on forced load that means you have to fudge, but you wont afraid of being caught. If they fire you for it can they just make up some b.s. to go on your record(DAC) I think.

It's all common sense when you think about it.
First and foremost is safety. If you keep that in mind you will be fine. When I say safety I don't mean following all the rules to a tee because some of the rules at times if followed can cause you to be unsafe later on down the road. Again common sense.....if you have hours left to drive and you need to be there at so and so time but you can't keep your eyes open and are fatigued then pull over and take a nap. Sure you may need to fudge your book a bit when you get to where you need to be but it's better than going on and falling asleep and God forbid killing someone.
Common Sense goes a long way and every professional driver should know their limits. Don't let some Government made parameters dictate to you what you need to do at all times. There is some leeway in there that you can correct down the road.
If you are going to run even a little illegal you better make #### sure you have all your ducks in a row, don't speed and follow all the driving rules and be alert.
Loose Leaf can be your best friend.tracyq144 Thanks this.
