You are exactly right! Instead of ######## about how bad people park or drive, get out and help them. It takes less time to get out and teach someone how to do it right then it does to log onto the computer, come to this site and then complain about them.
I'm a newbie when it comes to driving for a civilian company, but I have 14 years of driving exp with the Air Force. I have in fact helped out a Newbie driver at a truck stop with backing. I've gotten my fat arse out of my seat and went over and spotted him back. You know what I got for doing that??? A thank you from the driver... That is the best thing to get when you help someone. Now, I could have sat in my truck and just laughed, but I didn't and in the end, it helped someone who needed a little help...
Working for Swift, Rohel, WS, or any other company doesn't give anyone the right to bag on them or the company. If you see someone doing something blatantly against the regulations, call them in. However, if you see someone that is having trouble with backing or parking, give them a shout on the CB and ask if they want help. More times than not, they will say yes and you can help them learn the way you think is best...
I've always been told that the trucking industry is a lot like the Military. If that is the case, then why do I see so many ##### talkers on this page? Instead, you should be out there helping each other to learn the proper ways of doing things. The trucks you drive are 80K pounds! They are moving bombs that could kill someone at anytime. If we take just five minutes of our time to help the "Newbies", we could alleviate most of the accidents that come from inexperience.
I will now get off my soap boxand return you to your regularly scheduled program...

Why does everyone go into an auto defense and make excuses instead of having an intelligent debate? I'm open to listen to any facts someone wants to bring to the table. If I'm wrong prove it. The answer isn't to look the other way and pretend these problems don't exist. I don't have anything against Swift or their drivers but I'm also not ignoring their reputation. Everyone here assumes I have some axe to grind against Swift and that's not true. I'm just trying to have an intelligent debate about the facts.

Swift must be the new "whipping boy" of the trucking industry.
I remember it used to be JB Hunt. -

It would be possibe to have an intelligent debate if there was someone to debate who knew what on Earth they were talking about.
Swift is not the only company who has knotheads. We have our allotted share. When you're talking about 16,000 drivers, there will be a higher raw number. It doesn't mean Swift as a company is less safe or, as is commonly claimed, "dumber."
There's a reason Swift has a CSA2010 score of 33, which falls far below the threshold for intervention.
But it's really great you have a hobby. I'm happy you have something to keep your mind busy while you're on the road.
Cheers! -
bahahha no swift has always been teh whioppin boy to go back to but when you get some real tools at another company for a short tym swift falls to 2nd for a short bit b4 they rise back to the top again hahhahah just my 2 cents lolol
