Ok here we go.....I have been looking at several Co. that are good starters for newbies...So I talked to a Prime Recruiter today.....She told me yes they have a training program..for new drivers....I said great....but wait there is a catch.....it is for someone who has no CDL....NO EXP.

I told her I have a CDL....she asked how much exp. I had...I told her none...Had the CDL but never used it...she told me I had to have at least 3 to 4 months of EXP before they could hire me to be put with a trainer...

I said if I had 4 months of Exp. why would I need to go with them and be trained...she said that's just how it works....

So I backed up for a Min....asked her again....your whole training program is to Hire folks with No CDL and No exp....right...she said yep. but you will not hire someone with a CDL and No Exp...she said yep....

Her advise was for me to get a Job with someone to get some exp then come to them or go back to driving school and get back to them....

I said you mean you would rather have me go and drive for someone who would take a chance on me being new with no exp...if I could find such a company....drive 3 months and then leave them high and dry for a Job with Prime....she said yep.....
then I said or you would have me go back to school which I never did the first time and pay 3000.00 + bucks for a CDL which I already have....
    YEP......

Then I asked her....let me get this right....Prime would have me be trained by someone else for 3 months....just to get hired to be trained for 4-6 months..With Prime.....even if the training I got before prime was bad training...
    YEP......!!!
    Am I missing something........??????

Nope, you are not missing anything! :biggrin_25523:

Prime wants you without a CDL so they can get you the CDL and keep you indebted to them for a year.

With a few months experience, they will be more than happy to put you in a truck with another driver for 60k miles, pay you peanuts, and have you run team. They make plenty of money that way, and pay you very little of it.

(this all according to a Prime driver friend of mine)

    Make sense? :biggrin_25525:
