I am prehired and okayed (is that a word?) for orientation for JB Hunt .37 a mile, Schaffer .37 a mile and Heartland at .45 a mile. I live in Valdosta Ga and will be running the S.E. out of Atl for JB/Schaffer and Jax Fl for Heartland. Jb said out 12 to 14 average 2500, Schaffer is 21 days out average 2500 and Heartland said home 3 out of 4 weekends home and 2200 a week. Heartland is more home same money less work. Seems like a no brainer.
If you are a Heartland driver-PLEASE READ!

At least they are honest about the average. I have been averaging that for quite some time. I have some very bad weeks, but some very good ones to keep the average up.
When you go in, make sure you have all the documentation you can get your hands on for work history.
If it is a company that does not use DAC, make sure you have proof of the time.
If you were an O/O, bring in paperwork to show the years.
Anything you can get will help. They love when they go deep into a work history and cannot prove all the time.
That initial offer for pay will go down several cents if you do not do your homework before you get to the company.
They will pay, but you really need to have your ducks in a row.
Good luck, hope to see you some time. -
do you happen to have that idiot adolph for a dispatcher?
-
Nope, I have Kevin. (Huggy)
We have had our issues, but he has gotten better over time and is running me pretty well. -
ChromeDome,
Do you know if Heartland is hiring recent Grads? I looked on their site, but couldn't find anything on Qualifications. Thanks in advance,

You have to have 1 year OTR.
No tickets. No preventables in a set period of time.
23 years old.
No convictions for alcohol, drugs, theft etc.
I cannot remember all of them. But nope, they have never hired drivers with less than 1 year OTR experience. They have no training program at all.
I hear they are starting the refresher program again, but that is for drivers that have years experience and just nothing in the past 6 months. -
Chromedome,
DO you still work for Heartland? I may go to their orientation this week. Just wondering if I could get any information from you about them?
They are offering a dedeicated lane out of Baltimore (where I live) to a few places. -
I still work for them. I have been talking to them about possibly doing a dedicated for a while. But it is .05 cpm less than my current rate. Or in Columbus region like 725 per week salary. But thru the house a few times a week and home weekends.
Not bad for what it is I guess. I just wish I could get another hundred bucks a week out of them.
But even with the salary, if you would make more on mileage they pay the mileage.
I thought about trying to run a dedicated to Baltimore from Erie PA. But we cannot drop at Baltimore. Have to live unload, then drop empty to grab the loaded from same place. They want to see the trailer clean before they will let us drop them.
