Maybe next time wiseguy.....Lots and lots of squares.....first left hand turns and then right hand turns. And finally to finish the day out...45 degree backs.

So how many are you down to now? The upside to losing people from the class is you get more drive time with the trainers.

Completion of day 5. Now two guys in my truck and 3 guys in the other truck. Did our first road driving today and the other guy in my truck had improved his shifting dramatically overnight so it seems like our group of 5 stays in tack for now. This appears to be a great program but it's no picnic here....very fast paced and time is going very fast. Tomorrow is more road time and I imagine more turning and shifting time on the range. Having been taught to float gears I was concerned about coming here and double clutching but it has been fairly easy to pick up on. So, for now I will say goodnight from day 5 in Marshfield and I'll update tomorrow if possible.

Yeah it is a pretty fast paced program, but you seem like you're catching on just fine. Saturdays are backing and range practice if I recall. How's the weather holding up? I was up there in April/May and it was FREEZING and snowed all the time. I can imagine November must be worse there in the tundra.

I was lucky and only had 3 guys in my class. One guy got some one on one attention (was killin us with some whiplash) and me and another guy simply doubled up and were getting it pretty quick. Tho we'd hit our wall here and there...
If you have ("make sense don't it") Brian or Big ("I used to drive beer trucks") Joe, tell them hindsy says hello...
Or (smoke em if ya got em) Dale... Those are the 3 I worked with the most.
I'm glad I was here in June/July. Heck it was cold in June... I know its COLD right now! I'm here today. Gone tomorrow. -
LMAO, so true....He might be retired by now.

Hey hindsy, Brian is one of our instructors and Scott. Yesterday was supposed to be pre-trip only because Scott was helping another class with backing. At about 11 one of our 2 guys that are having trouble asked if we could drive the range. So Scott told him he could drive as long as I was willing to ride along with him. He was having alot of downshift trouble but by 3 in the afternoon we had broken alot of his bad habits including playing with the shifter in neutral while downshifting. We have 5 left in our class and there is only one that I think won't make it. He only lives a couple hours from here so he left at 8:30 yesterday morning to go home. I'm thinking that won't look good on him while he is struggling.

Well, it's Thanksgiving today and the day was a welcome break from all the information we have received since being here. For most of us the double clutching is now second nature and becomes much easier in town 2 gears at a time. I don't have to test next Thursday since I already have my CDL but I will have to do a pre trip and road test for the trainers on Tuesday. I thought it would have been much easier to keep up with daily updates here but its pretty exhausting here and am seriously looking forward to a few days at home in a week or so before Evo 1. Well, I guess that's all for now and I'll update as soon as possible.
AF461 Thanks this. -
Good luck brother and keep up the great work.... Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours. I wish you the best and hopefully will see you out on the road someday.
