DAC is a 3rd party reporting agency ( a Pvt operation) that keeps track of drivers records etc. They are funded by a subscription service from the trucking companies. When a driver leaves a company, the company reports to DAC how the driver was while working there. (Good or bad). Companies that subscribe to DAC always check thru them prior to hiring newbies. It's much like a credit bureau. You can dispute anything on your report.

After reading some of the threads,i wish all of you the best of luck finding the perfect trucking company to work for, personally i think you would have better luck inserting a square peg into a round hole besides the latter would be more fun here is my case i have 18yrs of trucking experience and because i took a 3yr break to help a friend in another business and now decided to get back to truck driving -no company will give me the time of day( and i have a excellent record)plus 1.5 million miles of safe driving , the only way these companies will talk to me is if i spend around $2500.00 to get recertified for a job that i have more experience in than the guy recertifying me -not going to happen- i think i will buy a truck and trailer,my own operating authority first.

Look at WESTERN DISTRIBUTING TRANSPORTATION out of Denver, CO. They have a waiting list and dirve excellent equipment. -
To the Newbie, I drove for Stevens in 1996/2003. Be careful with them, they make you pay for everything. Even if you quit after a year youwill still owe them for the school. They put you in a ROACH TRAP motel for training. Their instructors are very unprofessional and will degrate you. This is coming from a X trainer with them.
I am starting over myself due to me letting my CDL go, big mistake on my part. I would look in to FFE thats where I am going. They have a brand new school they pay for your housing. And its a 18 day course to get your CDL then out with a trainer for 6 weeks. Good luck where ever you go and stay positive. -
Sounds like you'd be dissapointed with SRT in Ashdown, AR then....
I showed up in JAN and the room was 24 degrees inside.
Then it took the heater a full 2 days to get it warmed up.
Also, they don't feed you but one meal a day.
If you come "broke", be prepared to survive on a diet of one hamburger a day til you can get fuel card and first advance.
