I see. Maybe we should let the incorrect ideas about split breaking persist so that more folks visit the black robed guy behind the unmandated tax levy administrator who just happens to hang out at your local scale house waiting for a driver whose "magic pen" isn't all that "magic?"

My E-log keeps mine straight.

Quite true. Ms Elogs rules my day as well. Sure helps to know what the rules will let you get away with when it comes to staying one step ahead of that girl!
-
It wouldn't be magic then. Lighten up! My log book lady in safety says I have some of the best looking logs she seen. That's one thing I don't like about forums and writing. Someone don't know if your happy, sad, mad, joking....
Split sleeper is a rare thing for a solo driver. I've used it twice the past year and evidently I done it right or the log dept would of scolded me. We get monthly letters thanking us or showing violations. -
I'm a solo driver, and I use it at least once a week. A great way to deal with slack time at shippers and receivers.
-
THANX! thats the way i understood it also but theres a lot of drivers out there giving wrong information to fellow drivers and getting fined..
Happy Trails -
Are you trying to say this is a legal log?scottied67 Thanks this.

Hi every one. I have been off the road for a year and I am about to go back out. So I am a little rusty on loging. I tried to read all 13 pages and didnt see what I need. This is how I did it. and I never had a problem.
I started with a 15 min pti, then drive 11 hours.then
I would do,1 hour shower then meal off duty not driving
8 hours sleeper
1 hour general break off duty not driving. all coming to 10 hours
Then start my day again.
I never had a problem at any check point, so I assume I was ok. I am going back out at the end of the coming week, and I am looking forward to driving again I did and do miss it.scottied67 Thanks this. -
few years ago I used to split 10 hr with 8 consecutive and 2 hr not consecutive . EX: I'll take a brake for 1hr then later a brake for 30 min and then later again for 30 min = 2 hr total and at the and of my 14 or sooner I'll take my 8hr consecutive and was fine. Even got checked by DOT few times and my terminal. CAN THIS RULE STEEL BE USED? Thank you.

I just read all 13 or so pages in a row (THANK YOU, btw... learned a ton, even with the bickering *grins*).
Pretty sure you cannot count this, because the two-hour break must be consecutive, just like the eight-hour break.
And if I'm wrong, one of those far more experienced than I am (like someone who just started school this week
) will correct me soon.
