From what I've been reading, CAT has been setting cylinder liners too low, causing coolant leaking into the crankcase due to poor head gasket sealing. That could very well be your problem.
I may have the same problem with mine. I have to add a gallon every 3 months and oil sample has been coming out OK, so mine is not severe enough to worry about at this moment. -
They have found a problem. Head gasket and cylinder liners. Inframe rebuild is for sure they said. My warranty runs out in 4 days and 1000 miles. The Company that warranties my truck says if any cavitation or pitts in the cylinders that they will not cover the repairs only the opening to look inside.
I am so freakin' nervous and I hope to GOD in heaven all items will be covered.
I pulled it in to the La Crosse Cat shop. 1st shift didnt tell 2nd shift about the coolant in the oil so all they checked were leaks and it sat for hours. I was so pissed and ready to leave as yet another shop shrugged thier shoulders at me.
They were like, "Oh you wanted us to check for a head gasket?" DUH!!!!!!! I was about to leave thinking maybe I was overly suspicious. As I turned for the door the mechanic came in and said there is deffinately a problem with my truck.
When you shut it off bubbles are coming out of the gasket and somewhere coolant gets forced into the oil. I'm glad at least I verified that something was wrong with my truck, its a good thing I got an oil sample.
I got a good rate on a hotel from a marketing agent for these hotel chains for $27 a night. I just booked 5 nights because they are closed for Thanksgiving. I wont make it home for the holiday but if my warranty covers this I will have an early Christmas. -
Mercer in So.California is suppose to have a MILITARY move from San Diego, Ca. to Fort Irwin, Ca. starting Dec. 3rd, does anyone know what the rate is going to be for a contract carrier ?
-
-
But what is the rate gonna be for a flat and/or step ?
-
It doesn't tell us what contract rate is...
I'm going to guess though... I'd say $828.76 -
The last time I hauled for them it was backwards and the rate was 680 for a flat and 720 for a step I believe ......
-
They take 25% from us. And I'm guessing 10% from a contract carrier. So I just divided our rate by 3, multiplied it by 4. Then I subtracted 10% off that.
The only wat to get a true rate on those loads is to can Donald. -
If you guys on here dont mind me asking what is the avg. freight rate for just regular flatbed loads you pull. I am talking the steel and lumber and those kinds of loads. Also what are the normal flatbed loads you all see over at mercer?
