I looked at one of them in 2006 and they wanted 120,000 for it then.
-
120K sounds right in '06 but, 139K?
-
Who knows. 4 years later and increases of 10-20% per year, that would be a bargain.
-
I hope you find this information helpful.

Maybe they can "Ferris Bueller" it. Run the truck in reverse for half a million miles to get negative miles on the odometer? Then youd have a 5 or 6 year old truck with ZERO miles on it
-
The funny thing about this is that you're hoping to get 7+ MPG out of it...
My W900L gets 6.8 to 7.5 average, Weighs way less, Will last way longer and looks better.
So where are the advantages to the Volvo? -
Hate to crash the party, but you might wanna know that D16 motor was one a disaster of epic proportions and one of the reasons for pulling 880 out of the market since no one wanted to buy it anymore. I am not saying that to discourage you from buying one at all, those poor Volvo techs need a job too
blackw900 Thanks this. -
The D16 was more troublesome than most other Volvo engines and that's saying something...

If "ANY" of what you just said was true, you might of had a valid point. But, its not. The guys I work with all run 900's and not a one of them gets better than 5mpg. Maybe your confused as to proper procedure for calculating fuel mileage?
Looks better? Maybe, 900's are beautiful trucks, and I certainly wont sit here and start bashing them. However, unfortunately they come in far down the list for purchase consideration for me. Way to cramped for my tastes, extremely narrow cab. I am 6'4" tall, and my knees rub the steering wheel with a seat that wont go back far enough. You cant even fit a cooler between the seats. Where the hell are the functioning cup holders? 4mpg, screw that. You may get 7, but you're not running more than 57mph guaranteed. I run almost exclusively NW and spend most of my days running 72 mph and still averaging in the high 6's, and can easily go to 8 if I back the speed down to 62, and that's hill/mountain country no the flat lands of the Midwest. Besides the fact that when I purchased my truck every Long nosed truck I looked at was at least $20K higher than a comparable freightliner or volvo. An extra $20K for less truck (but it looks better?) nope, not for me no thank ya. I learned a similar lesson about women many years ago. All that glitters it not gold...
The D16 is alive and well. Just because they cancelled the 880 doesn't mean they killed the motor too. Cant say I know much about them, and I appreciate your input. Actually, I find it terribly tough to distinguish between those that just wanna "hate on" Volvo and fact. I will continue to investigate that motor before making my purchase. My current truck has an ISX Cummins, and it has had plenty of problems, and thats for sure...
