    I notice the last couple weeks or so a "pause" between the time I key up and the time the radio actually responds to the key..make sense? Maybe a half second or second delay time. HP3300.

    Could be a dirty PTT switch in the mic. Disassemble the mic and spray it down with contact cleaner. Probably wouldn't hurt to also spray down the mic plug and jack on the radio.

    It's not hooked-up to a Amp that has a SSB delay switch on it, is it? If it is, then turn off the SSB delay when on AM channels.
