I mean, are all the terminals as slow as Gary? I am not beating up on most of the guys, but as drivers, we need to hustle. I have spent 2 days out of the past 11 down for the count. No serious issues and parts were on hand.... Just curious
Maintenance- is it always this slow?

Get used to it...every company shop is the same pretty much!

Gary sucks. They are always slow. Try to get the truck worked on at one of the Wisconsin terminals.
-
I would have loved to, but this last one was just a relay load I was trying to pick up that they had red tagged for a mismatched tire hours earlier...but didn't do anything with until it was perfect timing for my 14 to keep me from making it out of the terminal.

I bet this is true. Pulling pneumatic always going into wash outs. It seems that almost all of those guys drag their feet too....especially the company(Dahlsten) washout. I get so irritated. They will stop and get their break, lunch etc... Trucks can be lined up but it's no rush for them.
The thing I've noticed with company shops or the wash out guys is if you try and rush them along, they just go slower, too. -
It's worth a try to ask for a loaner truck in Gary. It worked for me a couple of times.
Whenever i pulled into gary for maint. i immediately went to the counter and got a room if i couldn't get a loaner. LOL -
Yes gary is always slow.

slow is a relative term... lol I've only experienced fast service at Kaukauna...
By the way you know you don't like it when someone tells you how to do your job. Have been the guy with the hose washing trucks years ago guys leearned I get paid by the hour and don't have a deadline. If you'd like it faster in the washbay grab a hose... lol
Gary is just Gary! Too much work for a too small crew. I try not to knock them when I know they are understaffed and under-equipped half of the time. -
even the fuel pumps are slow at gary! was there 45mins just to fill up a few hrs ago

Gary, Marshfield are always slow,...and they don't fix the problems until you exude some pressure on them. After complaining that my truck (#1650) had leaks, electrical and turbo problems for 4 out of 6 weeks as a beginning driver, they finally fixed the turbo leak; didn't pay me for layover pay. In fact they found a reason to "fire me", and then told me that I "quit" after having NOT quit. They don't pay unemployment after firing someone apparently.
Stay away from companies that appear to be too good to be true. Roehl Transport has a great web site, but doesn't live up to it's contracts with newer, functional equipment many times. No one wants a truck to leak during rainy weather or to wait 12 hours and not be paid. Rick,....time to get off the yacht and start to take care of business like your daddy did.Last edited: Nov 29, 2010
