States and car drivers love to say that trucks are not paying their fair share of road tax.
The problem is that the people saying it have no idea what they are talking about.
4% of the Vehicles on the road are trucks, but 40% of the money that goes into the trust fund is from trucks.
Trucks pay per mile in all states. So how are they not paying enough?
Heck, even if we do not buy fuel in that state we are still paying the tax.

They should also take into consideration the way roads are built for cars. For instance all the guard rails. Those are generaly for cars not trucks. We could do away with those and be just fine. Exit ramps every mile, We could do away with allot of these. Infact I would love to get rid of 50-75 percent of the nations on/off ramps. The left lane, so many states dont even allow trucks in the left lane.
