I know a hand from Youtube that drives for them Locally in J'Ville and loves them been there over 10 years

Drove for them when I was right out of the Army in there long haul division. Work got slow so I quit. If I would have stayed there a year I could have hauled gas for them. Hauling gas gets slow, but for me it is thank God it is slow I can finally take a break slow. I haul gas now foe Eagle transport and to tell you the truth they are all about all these Gas hauling Companies pay about the same. If you are hauling Gas for them you well be home every night. When I was in there long haul division I would be gone one night then come back the next day. You could do a hell of alot worse than Florida Rock

good mourning: now fl rock has been around quite a while, ive known quite a few drivers that have worked for them and have heard little bad about them and most of that was the usall belly acking. there a good company and seem to have more work then most and as far as i no there money is good.
good luck my friend.-----southernpride -
Thanks, I'm just waiting to hear back now, they called the other day did my dac and were happy now they are just doing the employer verification. I live about 20 miles from the Wilmington, NC terminal seems good so far, most of the trucks here are day cabs but they do have some sleepers, If there long haul is one day out I think I can handle that. Thanks for all the help

i'm 20 miles from the port city also,in rocky point area. i had a few co-workers that worked over there and they seem to be a pretty good outfit.

Like I said you could do alot worse

Thanks for the info. I called recruiter yesterday and they are just waiting for my current employer to do a driver verification and then they said they would fax it to the Terminal manager. I've met a few people who use to work for them or know somebody who has. Why do most seem to leave. They seem to have nice equipment. They say in Wilmington. Drivers are home everyday 95% of the time. How does it all work. what kind of hours cqan I expect. Thanks again
-
IT all depends what kind of work you do for them. If you are on the Gas side you can expect to work 8 to 10 hours this time of year. 12 hours on the weekends when drivers start taking time off. Here in Savannah they have 4 Mid Night Gas Haulers. On the weekends they have 2 drivers working and 2 drivers off. They alternate weekends, so you will get every other weekend off. You will get a dedicated day off during the week to do a 34 HR restart.
The reason why there is a lot of turn over is because gas hauling isn't for every one. Driving is only about 40% of the job. The hoses can be heavy if you don't lift them right, It isn't rocket science but it is easy to make a multi thousand dollar mistake if you are not careful. -
I am waiting to get my 1 year in to apply. They had an ad looking for drivers in Nashville TN. I hauled fuel back in the 80's. Single hole jetA and AVGAS..
