Radio shack offers a dual "trucker" antenna set up that looks pretty decent.I was just wondering if anybody has tried these out.

I've read that the radioshack stuff is not that good anymore...just curious.I run a old school Radioshack TR443 radio that somebody gave me for free 10 years ago through a firestik 3 foot antenna on my work truck, and that set up has been pretty good to me over the years. The radio is starting to have some minor issues,I've been looking at Uniden & Cobra radios for an upgrade,I don't need the "BIG" radio for what I do.

Radio Shack co-phase harness and antennas will work and will have decent instructions attached. They also rend to stand behind there own products better than average.
The real question is if you need to co-phase or not depends on what your putting antennas on. A refer or dry van yes 2 antennas are beneficial, a tanker, flatbed, or car then 1 will out perform a dual. -
I was thinking on my work truck.(2004 Freightliner Columbia) the set up in the truck is horrible,I can hear other drivers talk, but can't talk back so I've been going with a single antenna on the drivers side with a mirror mount. It works pretty good,I thought about trying a dual set up and $65 for the entire kit doesn't sound like to bad of a deal.I have a 5 foot metal whip from radio shack on my personal truck (4x4) that works pretty good, but I think that might be to tall to put on the mirror of my work truck.

Go into a Radio Shack now days, and you'll be lucky to find anything CB Related...Radio Shack has just about totally got out of the CB market...
Times Change...And so did the "Shack"...If it were me, I would come more buying a antenna from a Truck Stop before buying anything from the Shack...There's still plenty of CB Shops in most of the larger city's that could recommend a good quality co-phase set-up for probably around the same price as what you seen at the Shack.
Want a CB set-up? Go to where that is their primary business...

Last time i was in the remaining Seminole one I had my VX-2 HT in my pocket the girl behind the counter heard the repeater and asked me what it was .... I told her it was a HAM radio ......
She asked me how much it cost per month .....
The other SHACK is in LARGO and the guy there did not know what HAM radio was ..... Sadly he was just as well informed about CB ..... since they had one in the store he AT LEAST had seen one
Yep if you have questions they have answers wrong ones .......Working Class Patriot Thanks this. -
I drive a 2007 FL Columbia daycab, and found a new Radio Shack set of dual antennaes on Ebay for $31 + free shipping. They were new in the sealed package, and included the co phase coax, and 2 mounts. I used the factory mirror mounts and ran the coax through the door openings with wire ties on the outside upper mirror arms. I run a peaked and tuned Cobra 29 LTD (Chinese) nightwatch up in the "radio compartment" of the truck. It works satisfactory and my SWR is less than .5. Those antennaes are tuned almost perfectly for a 29. I use a M84 Cobra mic. Its not a big radio by any means, but its legal, and gets out about 2-3 miles depending on conditions. I've got $31 in the antennaes, $40 in the radio, total, and $26 in the mic. Not a bad budget rig for under $100. I pull double vans, so thats why I went to dual sticks. They work a little better than the single Francis I was using.

SWR under .5? That's a neat trick.
