the work history is a pretty small problem but 25 OVERthat will deffinitly make finding a job very hard. But if you can get hired from another company you could just have your BF change companies so you can team elsewhere....

I wouldn't feel right asking him to leave Con-Way so we could team elsewhere. He really loves Con-Way and has a good truck, good DM, etc...
Yeah I had forgotten all about that ticket but now I have a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach that it is gonna ruin everthing that I was so excited about
-
If he wants 2 paychecks coming in every week he'll change companies lol
American TruckerKatey Thanks this. -
Money isn't the biggest factor, I already know he would gladly support us both on his paycheck for another year til that ticket isn't important anymore. The big thing is I really don't wanna wait a whole extra year or have to go drive somewhere else for a year of servitude. I am still holding out hope that Con-Way won't make a big deal of the ticket but I'm not holding my breath lol.

I would call and talk to one of the recruiters there and see what they say would be the best way to work around it if they wont take you on until it drops. Like AT said though there is better companies out there then con-way but as far as getting on with them its the same difference as any other.Katey Thanks this.

I was planning to wait until the recuiter called me back which she said would be last week if she could get around to it. I might just call anyway, this not knowing is driving me nuts

Just show the recruiter the same enthusiasm as you've shown here , and you should get at least a fair hearing. Just remember to be justly humble. In a few years you can call the shots. Right now, admitting to your mistakes and being very sorry might be a good path to follow.
I wish I ran into your kind of excitement every day. Reading your posts makes it all worth it. Good luck.Katey Thanks this. -
Exactly, show your bound and determined to get that job and they'll recognize that. Thats how I got my job at the ford stealership earlier this year, I was in there every other day asking if they had made a decision or if they knew something talking to the service manager and when it came down to it, he said, you know Ive seen you in here atleast 15 times the past 2 weeks not including times Ive talked to you, Ill give you a shot cause obviously you wanna work.
Katey Thanks this. -
Well today I called and found out the exact details of my ticket in Alabama (90 in a 65 on US78 in Marion County).
After I got off the phone with them I called my recruiter at Con-Way and told her all about it and even the one I got soon after I got my driver's license that took a teen driving class to have it dismissed. She told me that most likely, just the 1 bad ticket wouldn't disqualify me. She also said she is currently doing the interviews for my class date and would get to me either today or tomorrow at the lastest.
I feel a little less stressed now. Thank you Dionysus and bobvillaoftn for your wonderful advice, encouragement, and faith in me!
Also bobvillaoftn, thanks for sharing your story, it made me smile and feel a little less nervous about calling
I will update again once I hear from her.
Stay safe all!
