This was built at a local fab shop that does my welding work. I bought the steel and told them what I wanted. Its a one man job and takes about 5 min. to raise or lower. #1#2

I used a 12 Volt winch to load up a single axle booster on the back of my tridem lowbed.
-
I'm using a 110 volt winch because I didn't want to mess with a battery.

This pic shows the axle almost on the ground.

Avoiding tolls when empty?
-
Not tolls, I have a 3 axle trl thats 53' and if I'm empty the axle makes the trl illegal. Also I maybe legal in some states with a load but, the western states require all axles on the ground when over 80k gross. In some states w/axle down I may need a pilot car so I leave it up untill I get west then it must come down. Wreckers charge as much as $250 to go to a POE and flip it. The #### thing is always in the wrong position it seems like.

Ah, avoiding the other kind of toll...
HEAVY DUDE Thanks this.
