Well I'm tall and thin, all knees and elbows, and I can't do that stupid duck waddle thing at all! I couldn't when I was a kid, and just for grins I tried it after reading this, still no luck. Don't know why, but it makes me mad! darn it anyhow, I hate not being able to do something a lot of folks can do without too much trouble... I guess you have to be "just right" to be able to do it. Not too thick and not too tall maybe.![]()

You wanna run team Daniel? Check out Storey Trucking in Henagar, AL. They are in reach of you. They are a good company that hauls carpet out of Dalton out to AZ an CA and produce back.
They pay percentage. Their web address is their name dot com. Last I heard they were hiring.Daniel30711 Thanks this. -

Tests like this one are some of the few times I'm happy to be 5'6"!
I can understand the expectation of being able to get under a trailer, but this isn't "Beat The Clock", for cripes sake!
Good luck man...keep us posted! -
My last orientation we had a driver that was 7'2" and 450 lbs. I'd like to see him do that squat test.

I wouldn't! I just ate!!

I was told by my boyfriend that I will have to do the same thing at orientation for Con-Way TL. After he told me that, next time we were stopped in an area where not a ton of people were, I tried it. Thankfully, even at 5'10 and.....overweight.... I was able to do it just barely. Hopefully I still can in 6 months or so when I make it to orientation! hehe

I have to say that there is a fair amount of proper technique required for these tests. I know that before going through Schneider's test regimen, I practiced with a crate of books in my basement, not so much to test my strength and stamina (of which I have none), but to concentrate on my breathing to keep everything else in check.
It's really easy to get out of kilter because of improper breathing. Turns out I passed with colors (though not flying) and 3+ years later, I'm still with 'em.
