The training isnt going to tell you if you can make it or not, heres a few things to think about.

    1. can you handle being away from home for a few weeks at a time?
    2. Are you self motivated?
    3. Are you willing to try new things and go to new places? Every day OTR is a new adventure, never the same, well with some exceptions (New Mexico LOL)...
    4. What made you try to get into this profession? Can you see yourself driving a truck? You already spent the money on a license.

What makes you think your not cut out for it though? Have you ever taken a trip away from your house? How did you find where you were going? Its the same thing just on a bigger scale? I think everyone at one time or another when starting asks themselves, "What am I getting into?" but you will find it will fade and you will become comfortable with it.

What scares you about OTR, seriously lets talk about it, maybe we can dispell some of the myth that scares people.

its only stressful if you let it be. there will be days even i get pissed at the world, but as far as getting lost invest in a GOOD gps, get internet for the love of god, and always call ahead and you wont have too much trouble finding any place.

Winter is the worst time to begin a career in trucking, if it was summer you would be ok.
