Trucking Jobs in 30 seconds
Every month 400 people find a job with the help of TruckersReport.
-
what makes you think that?
-
Well like finding shippers/receivers dealing with stresses of OTR driving and such more i think about it the more i feel like idk if this is me.
-
Your given an name, address, and telephone number. You pick up the phone & call to get directions.
-
Yea i understand that idk if im comfortable with this or not so i'll find out as i go through training
-
The training isnt going to tell you if you can make it or not, heres a few things to think about.
1. can you handle being away from home for a few weeks at a time?
2. Are you self motivated?
3. Are you willing to try new things and go to new places? Every day OTR is a new adventure, never the same, well with some exceptions (New Mexico LOL)...
4. What made you try to get into this profession? Can you see yourself driving a truck? You already spent the money on a license.
What makes you think your not cut out for it though? Have you ever taken a trip away from your house? How did you find where you were going? Its the same thing just on a bigger scale? I think everyone at one time or another when starting asks themselves, "What am I getting into?" but you will find it will fade and you will become comfortable with it. -
I can see myself driving a big truck yes but OTR is a little iffy so idk at this point
-
What scares you about OTR, seriously lets talk about it, maybe we can dispell some of the myth that scares people.
-
its only stressful if you let it be. there will be days even i get pissed at the world, but as far as getting lost invest in a GOOD gps, get internet for the love of god, and always call ahead and you wont have too much trouble finding any place.

Winter is the worst time to begin a career in trucking, if it was summer you would be ok.
