Thanks, but I am not a student. I have not been at this long but I do drive a Peterbilt and I do enjoy it.

I have only driven different Pete's so that's all I can really base my opinion on.

all trucks will break down...all trucks will "freeze" you out, there IS NO BEST COMPANY.......K-W's, Pete's, Volvo's, Mack's, Sterlings, Freightliner's, are all basically "mongrels" put together by factory workers that will go to coffee breaks, go on strikes, and forget to put on or tighten nuts and bolts.....

Mack's WERE 100% MACK back in the old days. that's about it. Volvo's were at one time 100% as well, and i do believe they were imported back then, but i cannot confirm this.

K-W's, Pete's and Marmon's were the best of the best for owner-operators who wanted (basically) "hand built trucks" to specs, NOT COOKIE CUTTER quality. not too many trucking companies could afford such trucks. like the very old Packards of years gone buy. Packards were an expensive car back in the day. but Packard corp was losing money and wanted to make itself available to "the masses" so they started building an "ordinary car", which was cheap, and as as a result, cheapened the name Packard, and many of the wealthy were not buying the "high dollar cars" anymore because the "ordinary man now could afford one", and years later, they went out of business.

enter, Pete, KW, Volvo, and now sadly Mack into the "cheaply built trucks"...........

there just isn't any "best truck" out there......anymore.

    Doc Daniels Thanks this.

I've gotta go with that. It's all a combination of a few different engines and trannies on different frames. Brand names are more about creature comforts for the driver and curb appeal. Even them the line is blurred. The T2000 and the 387 are even the same body for gosh sakes!
