Been following your progress,I got home from evo 1 last monday.Had a really nice trainer named Coop from Atlanta.Learned a lot about what its going to be out there, and strangely, its a hard life and I like it.We left Knoxville and he drove up to just below Cinci.,where we unloaded at a huge paper warehouse in 10 minutes. Then empty to Napoleon Ohio, loaded emty cans for Toronto, crossed at Detroit-Windsor.Woke up at 5am to finish trip into Toronto, caught beginning of rush hour(sucks, they can't drive there either),got held up at Robert warehouse because we didn't have an appointment. After Roehl got in touch they were informed to give us priority but they still took 3 more hours for a total of 6 hours. Left Robert and drove to Kingston Ont. and got next load after dark, then got to a truck stop and did paperwork for border broker.
Sort of a pain in ### and took me till midnight to finally finish it .Next morning we go over the bridge to the good ole U.S. and get a grouchy welcome from the American in the booth.Ran south with 43,000lbs thru NY,PA and VA where we found an overcrowded truck stop in Rahine, that was the nite there was a pileup on US77.Next morning drove to Bennettsville SC to unload then got next load in Columbia SC.Drove to Knoxville,my first time driving thru mts, stayed at Dandridge truck stop.We actaully did that run twice, then got more paper 45,000lbs and I got dropped of in Knoxville.I learned alot and feel more confident and still need to improve, and am looking foward to mynext evo with a flatbed. I also might have recruited an experienced driver in Dandridge, which if it turns out could earn me $1600 eventually

Hey Steve, things have been moving along nicely here. Tomorrows our last Saturday on the range and will be a day of backing up although as of this morning everyone was doing pretty well with it. The other gut in my truck had a terrible day driving today. He parked on the RR tracks at two different red lights and has trouble downshifting so it's really scary when your going downhill and you see him pop it out of gear because you know he's not going to get it back into a gear anytime soon. Anyway, sounds like your Evo 1 was a success. I'm sure like you said there is alot to learn and when I'm done here I'll bee looking forward to the Evo's. Tuesday is pre CDL test day and since I already have my CDL I guess Tuesday will be a big day for me. Well, was great to hear about Evo1 and I'll be looking forward to heAring about Evo 2.

I know you,ve been busy, and now your close to going home.
I know for me coming home was sweet after 3 weeks! -
Ok, it's been a few days since I last updated here. It's been a fantastic program so far and everything I've seen leads me to believe that coming to Roehl was a sound decision. Today was pre-CDL testing day leading up to the actual test day on Thursday. Since I came here with a CDL already in hand then that meant today was make it or break it day for me with Roehl. Started the morning out with 1 point on my pre-trip...forgot to mention the reflective tape on the back of the trailer. Then it was over to the maneuvers site where I did both maneuvers with 0 points. After a short break for everyone to get some coffee and warm up a bit we headed out for the road test. This was a nerve racking for me to say the least only because I have driven with the same instructor the entire time here. Well, they figure for today's exercises the two instructors should switch trucks. This is why I was nervous...I had never driven with this instructor and the guys from his truck had been telling me he was very picky. Well, to make an already long story short....I was worried about nothing. I went out and drove the truck and only thought about what I had to do regardless of who was riding with me. After we got back to the terminal and parked he was very complimentary and went over my grade card with me. Turns out i did have 5 points but I was pretty happy with that after all the stress I had put upon myself. So, now all I have left is a final exam and then I should be heading home before starting Evo1. Thanks to all who have been following along and to anyone considering Roehl if you have any questions I'll be more than happy to try and answer any questions you may have about the RDTC program. Have a good night everyone.
Hitman Thanks this. -

Thanks everyone. Final exam was a breeze. We had a guy that didn't make it past his 45 degree back today... He was wide and caught the concrete with his ICC bar so he'll be back next week to try again. So, RDTC is all but behind me now. Just have to go in tomorrow morning for a bit then it's off for home to regenerate and get ready to start the EVOs.
