What about the lack of due process with warnings and points?

I really think the true purpose of CSA2010 is to put all the small companies out of business. They want to bury us with red tape and paperwork. It has nothing to do with safety, and everything to do with money and who's pocket it's landing in

    Good point crow.

My trailer has 60 lights, including 9/9 on the sides 7/7 front and back, all LEDs. Every once in a great while one light will be unlit (always due to a ground issue - 10 second fix). What's troubling to me is to think one single side light could be out durring an inspection and could result in a write up from an overzealous diesel bear.

Since the law always trumps common sense, having 59 out 60 working lights, it could result in points even though I have 4 times as many lights as most trailers out here.

Welcome to the police state of America.

I don't know what to make of CSA. Why aren't the 4wheelers being subject too this?? All i know is that if safety is what they want, safety is what they'll get...to the 9th degree,at least out of me. Don't know how long i'll have a job--but at least i and the motoring public will be safe. All i know is that the fat-cats that run our outfits are going to be greasing the pockets of these CSA goons...it's the only way they are going to survive.

Or worse yet your pig tail would come undone and the officer write you up for every light being out! That happened to Pitt-Ohio. Thats alot of points for 1 simple problem.

Speaking of that, did you fight this through the data q challenge system? If not you should be.

Because it has nothing to do with 4 wheelers or safety. More emissions regulations and CSA are probably in response to opposition toward Mexican drivers coming in. If there is a driver shortage because drivers and companies can no longer compete, Mexico can save the day. Whenever the government wants something, it just creates a crisis and responds with what they want. Patriot act, middle east wars, and bailouts are good examples of this.

Who will stay in business after this? The big ones. Much like Walmart and Target have taken over retail, big trucking companies will be able to compete where the small business owner will not.

Wow, if he got you for all 60 out due to a broken wire or a short that would be 360 severity points in one stop,,,,,

You guys know he would be bragging to his buddies at the cop bar about that one

    LOL

Anyways, my point here is that the 4-wheelers in government who have dreamt up this bullshitt CSA scoring system, are not playing favorably to a guy who has been out here since the late 80's and has never wrecked himself or others once ever. But if one single light is out and the other 59 are still working and such is noted on the inspection form, it will deemed as a potential cause to CRASH. CSA is supposedly about CRASHES and the prevention of such. Why the government go to so many extreemes to prove an invalid point is insane.

My personal opinion take 1 - I bet money there are numerous government people involved the CSA regs who have in their 4-wheelers wrecked themselves or others and or have done illegal drugs at some point in their life, yet I have not done either in my life once ever.

My personal opinion take 2 - I will bet that there will be some trucker out there who will get screwed over for a "violations found - side marker light out" yet has 59 illuminated ones. It'll probably happen to a trucker driving in one of the communist states like Caliphornia/New york/Illinoiz, who has a million safe miles under his belt. But the 24 year old kid officer writing up the level I, II or III inspection will see this "infraction" as a golden opportunity to justify his existence.

Any of you newb wannabe truckers reading this should re-consider such line of work and instead seek employment with the government. That is where the jobs are at and will be for at least the next generation. UCR is a perfect example.

And I'll add this - I have never taken an illegal drug in my life, unlike the POS in the whitehouse who has openly admited to drug use.

SUMMARY - my urine has been clean since birth and I have never once caused a wreck......I am far cleaner than the axxholes in government who make and pass laws.

Oppologies for the rant. I just have a serious distrust for the drug using, self empowering, self serving, corrupt government officials with no talent driving their 4-wheelers who imply I am a potentialy a crash waiting to happen.
