this may have been asked a hundred times but if i take out an acert cat w a 120 pin and put in say a 6nz or a 2ws w a 70 pin ecm will i have to change the harness or any other wiring? i know the pluming and other stuff is easy but the electrical for the ecm is my only concern.

split, splice and heat shrink. A weekend with wiring diagrams, some stuff with ECM programming....
ouh! you may use wiring harness kits by Mawk. -
You can put the 70 pin 2ws,6nz, or mbn in because the truck side is the same 70 pin. RW

Rob, does that hold true for even the new SDP engines, been wondering what would have to be done to a 2007 and later truck to get an older engine to work right.

Well...I have helped put a 7cz in a 389 and it worked out fine.....One of my customers has taken an SDP and converted it back to 6nz....the Wiring on the truck side is the same 70 pin from 2ws through the end of Cat production....to my knowledge. Thanks RW
SmokinCAT Thanks this. -
Robby how bad was the sdp to convert back to 6nz?
