True. I never got a shower there, I just bobtailed down to the Pilot/Loves and got one (even though our terminal with it's muddy disgusting shower was about four miles away). I did have lunch there a couple times and it was decent. I couldn't stand the pot holes and parking on a hill.
Grabbing WiFi from the hotels next door is definitely a plus though.![]()

If you check back through the archives you'll find that Central provides a tractor. If you're lucky you might get a tri-pac power unit...doubtful though. You provide the CB, GPS, Fridge, etc at your expense. One thing about central you provide everything but the truck and if it is ever in their favor financially....you lose. Not bitter, just reality.Hank74 Thanks this.

Well, to be fair, it's not just Central that uses that philosophy. -
If I was the company I would not provide the driver with much that they could take out of the truck and carry away when they leave either.
Think about it. Some drivers when they feel they are cheated would take anything not bolted on with them when they left. So Central, or any other company would have to replace that every couple of drivers. -
To the poster asking about Central. My wife and I teamed for Central and did really well. Central treats their husband/wife teams like gold! Just prepare yourself to run! They expect teams to average 1000miles a day. Comb through the threads like the other poster said. Wouldn't hurt to give a recruiter a call either. Good luck!
Lady K Thanks this. -
I believe Mikley you have a droid phone and pda.net mentioned prior but to be sure I understood... there is a droid app on pda.net for free that enables your cell phone to act as a modem and tether to your laptop with unlimited internet access at the same speed as Verizon wireless... correct?
-
Are you still with Central?
-
yes there is. although you COULD get into trouble with it since free tethering most likely violates your contract. Depends on how bad the carrier wants to enforce it.
-
wonder if ill get a ticket tomorrow. im parked on the side of I 84 in a stretch of ice with about 5 other trucks because the highway is closed at MM 362.
-
There is nothing in the Verizon contract that says you can't use a third party tethering app. In fact PDAnet is part of the Droid Marketjess-juju Thanks this.
