The "new" old truck broke... Off to Truck Country to get the tranny fixed, it won't stay in gear. That really messes with a new student driver! Back to the old Qualcomm in a loaner truck... I guess I do like the new one better, I just wish that we would have had a better plan in place to train and put these out in a more organized way. I have great hopes that we will someday use them to their full potential, maybe. I hope the speed bumps that are in the way now work out of the system quickly, and this really does end up being a productivity boost.

Got the "new" old truck back, good as new. Now maybe I can put some miles on it. As for the roll top flat beds, they are flatbeds not curtains, they entire tarp rolls forward and back, they used to have just a few for some dedicated job, but then got a few more with the ORT buyout. I don't really know how much they use them. They are pretty nice, just tie down, roll shut, and fly. Almost as easy as a curtain side.

New International Prostars in Marshfield now... I guess they are going to get a few of this and a few of that, just to see how much of a nightmare they really can make for the maintenance department. If you had to stock parts for 1700+ trucks wouldn't it make sense if they were all the same??? The only thing I can figure is that they could not make up their mind on which to buy, so they said heck lets get some of each.

According to my instructer (Joe) Roehl is buying a handful of 4 brands of tucks to see how each motor/truck works out and then will focus on the best one.

If you have a frieghtliner they all leak... mine does too, I just need to find the time to get mine fixed. As far as a new truck, they are a pain sometimes too. I have only had one that was not a headache. They all have a few bugs, some bigger than others, sometimes it is better to get one with a couple hundred thousand on it, that way it is ready to run.

Oh if I get a prostar international I would stay at Roehl for sure my truck leaks at the windshield and it's all having troublem with something it's hard to make money that way. Any truck with over 500,000 miles will have problems.

That is not true, if a truck is taken care off and not ragged on all the time they will last a long time, I put well over a million miles on the first truck that I owned. Yes the motor was overhauled, and I did have to do some work on it, but it NEVER left me sitting along side the road. The problem with the trucks at Roehl is that most of the people driving them don't give a #$%# what they do to them. If they were making a payment on that truck, I bet they would drive it, and treat it alot different. I guess that is why we get what we get for trucks, striped out fleet trucks.:biggrin_2552:
