This is exactly why I went and got my Haz-Mat and tank endoursment for the Haynesville gas shale down here in Louisiana driving a vac truck. I'm having a hard time getting on though. If it weren't for my fiance` in the middle of child support and can't leave state with the kid's I would tell them to pack their #### like it or not and my ### would be there with no question or fuss. Workin' the patch is more than #### good money.

Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

Hey coonass, you have your due's in, why not get your hazmat and tank endoursment and find one of those local water outfit's down around your area? It's good money and home everynight. I've seen a bunch of ad's for driver's needed driving vacuum trucks down there. I would take one but like my previous post I can't leave state because of my finace's issue and I don't have the money to move.

168 hrs. = 7 X 24 hors/day = 168 hrs. Isn't slavery against the law???

Just kidding you, been around pipelining and the oilpatch for 50 years. -
For that kind of money. Oh hellllllllllll ya!
-

I already got my tanker and haz endorsement
but you couldn't make me live out there this time of year. This southern
boy would freeze his nutz off.
I like our lil corner of the oilfield, I pick up tools, equipment, and drill stem
down here and get to run out to N and S Dakota or the field over in NY, PA,
and WV. I'd say 90% of all the tools they are using up there comes from
here around Lafayette and Houston. The oil companies don't have the
infastruture set up yet to supply tools so that means plenty of work for us.
Also I'm home almost all the time. I may take a load up North but once I
make my drop I'm headed straight back South and home. I'd say most of
the time I may sleep around 3 nights a week in the truck, unless it's long
runs back to back. -
#### that sounds like a goody job too. How's the pay compaired to vac truck?
-
Not too shabby for sure
.
Not positive but I believe most of the vac truck drivers and the like in
the oilfield receive hourly pay. What we do is more oilfield expedite,
myself and all the others in our corner receive and pay 25% of the line
haul.
My driver pay averages right at $1500 wk s.
Do you live in Shreveport or in the area? I saw that you posted something
about not leaving the state for a job? If you were down here closer to
Lafayette I know quite a few O/Os that are hiring. We need someone to
drive either a single axle or a straight truck with a 26' flatbed. -
if we sat on location for 7 days we got paid 168hrs. I know you may know but there is the answer for those whop don't and think i'm BS'n
ACTUALLY once i got paid for 175hrs in one week... try to work that one out! lol -
PM sent. I worked Pipeline construction in ND last year on the Alberta Clipper line as a laborer and didn't mind the long hours and being away from home. I've been looking for a driving job in the oil industry ever since.
